Know What Is Going On In Your Dental Practice. Start By Measuring These Six Numbers On The Phone.

Knowing is powerful! Not knowing is dangerous.

Keep up the great work if you are tracking and measuring your results. You are amongst the small minority of Dental Offices that are.

Many practices are working hard but do not know how they are really going and are not keeping track of their efforts.

Some Dental Offices start to guess what their practice numbers are.

I often hear the following being said:

“I *feel* the numbers are good.”

A feeling you are doing well is not enough when you are running a business.

“I *think* our call conversions are really good.”

Thinking and knowing are very different. I believe what we think is often not what it actually is!

“The New Patient Numbers *are excellent*.”

Maybe the New Patient Numbers are high but do you know how many New Patients have their next appointment and are retained in the practice?

Can you see how dangerous it is to your business to be guessing and not really knowing with real numbers and tracked measurements?

Not measuring your results means you have no reference point of where you are and where you want to take your business.

It is important to know if your business is having a problem so you can make changes and fix the problems straight away.

Knowing your numbers and keeping track of them on a regular basis gives you the ability to spot problems in your business.

I believe every Dental Office needs to be paying attention and watching the following numbers carefully:

  1. The number of New Patients who call your Dental Office each day.
  2. The number of referrals of New Patients.
  3. The number of Calls received that make a New Patient Appointment.
  4. The number of New Patient Cancellations.
  5. The number of Existing Patient Cancellations
  6. The number of next appointments made after a New Patient Appointment

You want to be measuring and tracking numbers daily, weekly, monthly and yearly to see the changes and growth in your business.

Regular measuring and analysis of numbers will give you a more effective picture of your business.

There is no point doing it now and then.

Start today and keep on measuring.

It will be the best thing you do for your business.

You can’t improve what you don’t measure.
